What would a heat pump grant be worth to you?
Six questions, and you will know what the grant would be worth to you and what, if anything, rules you out. The installer applies on your behalf, so the money never passes through your hands.

4 The rule most pages still get wrong
When the scheme started you needed a valid EPC with no outstanding recommendations for loft or cavity wall insulation. A great many guides still say so. The government’s own 2026 evaluation of the scheme states that this is no longer the case.
If a page tells you to fix your loft insulation before you can claim, check the date on it. This is exactly why every figure on this site carries the day it was last checked.
5 What this cannot tell you
- It covers the main rules, not every case. Listed buildings, new builds, shared ground loops and non-domestic properties all have extra conditions.
- Your installer has to be MCS certified, and the system has to meet minimum efficiency standards. Ask them to confirm both before you sign anything.
- Grant amounts and rules change. Check GOV.UK before you commit, and see the date this page was last checked at the top.
- Scotland and Northern Ireland work completely differently and are not covered here.
